When you open the internet
you allow every single person in the world
the opportunity to enter your home.
And there are a myriad of interntions among all those people.
You don't have to be a parent of a child athlete
to be an advocate for young people.
There is a assumed risk
of being a public figure
which is part of the entrance fee
into being famous (or talented).
As a First Measure, please write the following in the Bio of Instagram
"Acct. Monitored by Parent."
In Facebook Write it everywhere you can:
About, Home, Pin a Post to the top of the account.
And then make sure you monitor that account.
There will be a percentage that take that advice
but still don't monitor that account.
It is just one more step to reduce risk.
And open the dialogue with your child.
